HACA Participates in a Colloquium on “Gender and Media” within the Framework of the 8th International Congress of Feminist Research in Francophonie (CIRFF)
A delegation from the High Authority for Audio-visual Communication (HACA), headed by its President Ms. Amina Lemrini Elouhabi, and composed of Ms. Latifa Tayah, Director of Studies Department (DED), Mss Houda Sabiri and Ghita Berrada, officials at the same Department, and Ms. Sahar Syassi, task officer at the Presidency, took part in the work of the 8th International Congress of Feminist Research in Francophonie (CIRFF), held at Paris Nanterre University, from 27th to 31st August 2018.
The participation of the HACA’s delegation revolved around three main objectives: a sharing didactic objective, an objective related to resource persons identification and an objective that consists of consolidating knowledge in the fields of gender and media literacy.
The mobilization of theorical, methodological and practical dimensions within the framework of the colloquium “Gender (Re) productions and subversions in today’s and yesterday’s media” and other parallel activities were of a great interest for the implementation of HACA’s strategy.
It should also be pointed out that since its first edition in 1996, the CIRFF offers an ideal space for academics and activists to share information and debate on gender issues. The 8th edition titled “Spaces and stakes of feminist knowledges: realities, struggles, utopias” gathered more than 1400 participant from over 47 country to participate to a wide range of activities. The latter was divided into 49 colloquiums, 21 round tables, 45 workshops, 25 thematic sessions, 7 expositions, 8 art performances, 5 film projection of films and 16 transversal debates. The question of the gender representations in media was at the very heart of this congress.
