HACA organizes a blood donation day An act of citizenship
The Social Welfare Association of the HACA, together with the National Center of Blood Transfusion and Hematology (CNTSH) of Rabat, organized a blood donation operation, on Wednesday, September 13th, 2017 at the headquarters of the HACA.
This event was part of the national actions of solidarity and mutual aid. It intervened in response to urgent calls by hospitals and health authorities of the country to compensate for the lack of blood supply.
For the second time, the HACA has welcomed this humanitarian and social act of citizenship with open arms in order to promote and strengthen the culture of blood donation and to assist patients regularly in need of transfusion as well as accidents victims.
Being aware of the importance of donating blood as a vital activity, the HACA staff, more than 40 people, did not fail to attend, and show generosity and voluntarism for this human cause.
Nevertheless, we should not forget that in Morocco, regular blood donors are scarce. As a matter of fact, the CNTSH revealed that in the first half of the year 2017, only 260,000 donations have been collected at the national level which is well below the needs of the country. Hospitals and transfusion centers continue to sound the alarm on this situation that seriously concerns the hospitals and the Department of health as well as the sector of private clinics.
