President of the HACA receives the new Head of Rabat’s Council of Europe Office
Mr. José Luis Herrero, the new Head of Rabat’s Council of Europe, was received, on Wednesday September 20th, by Ms. Amina Lemrini Elouahabi, President of the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication.
In her introduction, Ms. Lemrini welcomed Mr. Herrero and wished him good fortune in his new mission. She subsequently exposed him briefly to the context of HACA’s creation, the major turning points that shaped the Moroccan audiovisual landscape over the past fifteen years, the international positioning of the institution through its active participation in regulatory networks, in addition to the latest significative changes in its audiovisual legal framework.
After reciprocal congratulations for the healthy partnership between the Council of Europe and Morocco, especially on the audiovisual regulation, Ms. Lemrini and Mr. Herrero also noted additional tracks of cooperation to consider besides the next important deadlines of the strategic Morocco-COE partnerships, including the regional and bilateral committee meetings (program South II) that is expected respectively in Rabat and Brussels.
It is worth mentioning that the High Authority participates vigorously to the activities of the European Audiovisual Observatory supervised by the Council of Europe, since its adherence in 2013 as the first non-European member.
Furthermore, the High Authority participates regularly, as a host, to the meetings of the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA), that combines 52 audiovisual regulatory authorities from 46 European countries.
Also present at this exchange meeting were Ms. Ghita Tadlaoui, project manager in the Office of the Council of Europe in Rabat and Mr. Talal Salahdine, responsible for international cooperation at the HACA.
